Privacy and Terms
What Oral Rehearsal does with your voice, your transcripts and your scores, and the terms you agree to when you take part in the beta.
What Oral Rehearsal Is
Oral Rehearsal is a practice room for the ABR diagnostic radiology oral exam. An AI examiner shows you cases, listens to your answers and replies by voice, and each case is scored afterwards with written feedback.
- It is for practice only. Scores are a rehearsal estimate and not a prediction of how you will do on the exam.
- It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the American Board of Radiology.
- Nothing here is medical advice. Cases, feedback and reading suggestions are study material and must not be used to care for a patient.
- The beta is open to invited and approved testers only. Your sign-in link is for you alone.
What Is Collected
- Your request for access, if you ask to join from the Request Access page: your name, email address, training level, institution and any note you add, with a hashed form of your network address that is used only to limit repeated requests. Joseph Willis reads it to decide on the request. If you are approved, it is kept with your account. If you are not, it is deleted when you ask.
- Your email address, to send your sign-in link and to keep your records together. The app also stores when you agreed to these terms and when you last used it.
- Your speech. The microphone turns on only after you press Begin. During a case the page streams the microphone to an xAI voice session, which turns it into text and speaks the examiner. If that session cannot open, the page sends each stretch of speech to the app's server, which passes it to xAI to be turned into text. The app keeps the text. It does not store the audio.
- Transcripts and scores. What you said, what the examiner said, each case's score and its written feedback are stored with your account, so your results appear on any device you sign in on.
- A session log for each case: what each side said and when, which microphone and voice settings were used, and any errors the page hit, so a problem can be traced.
- Feedback you send, with the page address, your browser and screen size, and the last few errors the page saw. Sign-in codes and keys are removed from these before they are sent.
- Usage counts and costs for each account (for example seconds of speech transcribed, examiner turns and the estimated cost of each), used for the hourly limits and to track running costs.
- The name you type in the lobby, if you type one. The examiner greets you with it, so it is sent to xAI as part of that spoken line.
The camera turns on only for the self view in the lobby and the technical check, or if you press Turn On Camera in the exam room. The picture, including the lobby selfie, stays in your browser and is never uploaded. A copy of your practice history and your settings are also kept in this browser's storage.
Please do not say or type real patient information. The cases are public teaching cases, and the app is not set up to handle protected health information.
Who Processes It
- xAI transcribes your speech, runs the examiner and the scoring models, and produces the examiner's voice. Your speech, transcripts and the case material are sent to xAI for each examiner turn and each score. What xAI does with them is governed by xAI's privacy policy.
- Supabase handles sign-in and stores your account records, transcripts, scores, session logs and feedback, in the United States.
- Vercel hosts the site and runs its server functions.
- Resend delivers the sign-in email, the email that tells you a request was approved, and the owner's notice of a new request.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr serve the site's fonts and its sign-in library, so they see your IP address and browser, as with any site that uses them.
- If you switch dictation to Chrome's built-in option in Practice Settings, Chrome sends your speech to Google's speech service instead of xAI.
How It Is Used
Your records are used to run the exam, to score your cases, to show your results to you, and to let the owner, Joseph Willis, improve the examiner, the scoring and the cases. He reads transcripts, session logs, scores and feedback for that purpose. There is no advertising and no analytics or tracking on the site, and your records are not sold or shared with anyone beyond the services listed above.
Keeping and Deleting Your Data
Nothing is deleted automatically yet. Your records stay until you ask for them to be deleted or the owner removes them. To delete your account and everything stored with it, use Send Feedback in the Menu or email joseph@willisworxs.com. The owner deletes it by hand and replies when it is done. Data already sent to xAI is covered by xAI's own policy. The copy kept in your browser can be removed by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Licence and Image Credits
Case images are Radiopaedia.org cases, shared by their contributors under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 licence (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0). Each image carries its contributor's name while it is on screen, and the Credits page lists every case, contributor and licence by section.
Oral Rehearsal uses these images for non-commercial study. Do not copy, record or redistribute the cases from this site; if you want to reuse an image, go to its original Radiopaedia.org case and follow the licence there.
Terms of Use
- You take part as an invited or approved tester and you agree to these terms in the welcome card on your first visit. Asking for access means agreeing to them for the details you send with the request.
- The examiner and the scorer are AI models. They can mishear you, ask an odd question or score a case wrongly. Tell us when they do.
- There are hourly limits on transcription, examiner turns and scoring for each account. When you reach one, the page says so and you can carry on later.
- The beta is provided as it is, without any warranty, and it may change, pause or end at any time.
- Do not try to reach other testers' records, extract case answers or overload the service.
