Add a case to the oral board rehearsal

Thank you for contributing. In the rehearsal the examiner reads your history aloud, shows your images in the order you set, and scores the candidate against exactly what you write here: the findings a safe radiologist must see, the diagnosis, the reasonable alternatives, and what they should do next. Short, specific lines work best. About ten minutes per case.

The case

The section it belongs to on the exam, its study-guide topic, and the answer the candidate has to reach.

One item per line. Each line has to be recognisable in a spoken transcript, so keep it short and concrete.

Findings 2 to 5The deciding finding first, then the secondary ones. Pertinent negatives 1 to 3What a safe reader checks and says is absent. Synthesis 1 to 2The most likely diagnosis and why, as a candidate would put it together. Reasonable alternatives 2 to 4Entities a candidate might reasonably name. The answer may be listed first. Management 2 to 4What the radiologist controls: the next study, who is called and how urgently, the disposition. No drug doses or operative detail. Series shown in order

Most cases show one set of images. If the case has a follow-on study (a CT after the radiograph, a CTA after the CT), declare the series so the examiner withholds the next study until the candidate asks for it.

Check and submit

The check looks for anything missing, a history that gives the answer away, and management that is not the radiologist's to decide, then a reviewing model reads the whole case against the exam standard. Fix what it flags, check again, and submit when it passes.
